After years of waiting, good news is here for all Exotic Longhair owners!
The Exotic Longhair is now accepted as a championship breed and can be shown in all competitive categories.
All Exotic Longahirs will be registered as Exotic Longhairs with an identifying registration prefix 7xxxL. They will however, be shown with the Persians in the existing Persian colour classes.
They will be scored for Regional and National wins in a new "Exotic Longhair" category. They will not earn "Persian" breed wins.
The ultimate goal of CFA remains to breed for the Exotic with a short coat and therefore, the offspring of ELH x ELH and ELH x Persian breedings will not be registered.
Starting May 1 2009, you can register your Exotic Longhairs under the competitive classes at our shows.
